Take action for platypus this World Environment Day - join our Loopy Litter Blitz!

Join Bacchus Marsh Platypus Alliance's Loopy Litter Blitz this June for World Environment Day to protect our local platypuses from the dangers of loopy litter!

Items like rubber bands, hair ties, plastic rings, fishing line, string, and twine are deadly traps for our local platypus population in the Werribee River.

How you can help...

Join in the Loopy Litter Blitz from 1-8th June as an individual or group, and Seize it, Snip it, Bin it, to help protect our unique platypuses:

• Seize it: Pick up any litter, especially loopy litter. Litter dropped on the ground ends up in our rivers and creeks.

• Snip it: Cut rings or loops, like hair ties or rubber bands, before disposal, to reduce the risk of entanglement (in case the litter escapes from the bin while the rubbish truck collects it).

• Bin it: Always put litter in the bin and close the bin's lid, to stop it from reaching our waterways.
